I served in the Navy.

Robert E. Perkins passed away peacefully and received his wings on July 18, 2018, one day prior to his 87th birthday.
Robert was born on July 19, 1931 in Chicago, IL to Edward Ash Perkins and Gladys Elizabeth (Lynch) Perkins. He graduated from Amherst Central High School in Amherst, New York and attended Wooster College in Wooster, Ohio and University of Buffalo in Buffalo New York. After college he joined the Navy and served four years active duty and four years as inactive reserve. He retired from service with the rank of Photographers Mate 2nd class. After returning to Oklahoma from service Robert attended the University of Oklahoma.
He married Wynona Jean Miller on October 6, 1959. They had 3 children, Rickey Wayne, Randy Darrel and David Lee Perkins. The family moved to Tulsa, OK where Robert worked for a security company. In 1968, Robert began working for Diebold, Inc. While working in Tulsa, Robert met the love of his life, Jewell Edith Beaumont. They were married on August 4, 1971. Jewell had 2 children, Linda Jane and Derrek Wayne. Together the family grew to 5 children. Jewell adopted Robert’s 3 boys. The family moved to Jenks, and Robert continued working for Diebold, Inc. as a service representative until he retired in 1993.
After Roberts retirement, he acted as representative of the City of Stillwell and the Regional Library Board in Muskogee for 5 years. He was appointed to and instrumental in developing the E911 board and served as chairman for many years. Robert served as volunteer firefighter and record keeper for the TriCommunity Fire Department well into his 80s. He became a certified Reserve Sheriff's Deputy in 1997 and held the rank of Reserve Captain at the time of his death. He was active in the New Testament Church and was in charge of the video ministry.
In August of 2017, Robert found love again with his constant companion, Susan Johnson. They met while Susan was serving as a volunteer at Claremore VA Center. They enjoyed attending activities and church services together at the center. Robert enjoyed attending family gatherings with Susan and her sons, Shawn and Martina Saylor; their children Luke and Lilly; Nathan and Lisa Saylor, and their children, Hannah, Nicki, and Naysa.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife Jewell Edith Perkins, his parents, and 3 sons, David Lee, Randy Darrel, and Rickey Wayne.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Linda Jane Case of Owasso, OK, and son Derrek Wayne Beaumont and wife, Carol, of Drumwright, OK; as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family members, friends, and loved ones.
